A larger diameter down tube than the Altitude adds stiffness to the main frame, gusseted top and down tubes take the leverage from 150mm forks and the thicker-wall chainstays increase the lifespan of the rear under repeated impacts.
The result is a frame with enough up front to have a go at any technical trail, but it's not overbuilt and lifeless by any means - push it hard and it still feels lively like steel.
